The Jews of Goa

The Jews of Goa brings together scholars and researchers to discuss the history and legacy of the Jews and New Christians (convesos), through texts and primary documents, missionary literature and records of the Inquisitorial trials from the Lisbon and Goan archives. The volume breaks new ground in examining the early and medieval history of the Jews, with a focus on the Portuguese period after Goa became a major power center in India. The book breaks the silence that has surrounded the Jews and New Christians and their descendants in Goa during the past few hundred years.

Many readers like me, will find it very unbelievable to entertain the thought that during Pre - Portuguese times in Goa, there existed Jewish communities in Goa that harmoniously lived and thrived along with the majority Hindu community of India.

Roman Catholic Christianity and its adherents are so wrong in being Anti Semitic and Anti Jewish. First of all Jesus never ever claimed to be the Almighty God in the flesh. Secondly as per the Tanakh (Old Testament Bible), Jesus did not fulfill any of the Almighty Creator of the Bible's requirements to be qualified as HA MASSIACH or THE MESSIAH. This is a FACT that cannot be denied in today's information age. As in Ancient Indian Sanskrit language it is most aptly stated; SATYAMEV JAYATE, literally translated into English as TRUTH WILL PREVAIL.

How could mere Jews who were MORTAL HUMANS ever KILL THE ALMIGHTY GOD IN THE FLESH JESUS of the Christians? Can God die according to the Bible of Christians? No.

"He alone can never die, and he lives in light so brilliant that no human can approach him. No human eye has ever seen him, nor ever will. All honor and power to him forever! Amen." - 1 Timothy 6:16

As per the New Testament, Jesus did not even DESTROY DEATH.

"But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Yahshua Messiah, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the good news:" 2 Timothy 1:10

In what way did Jesus destroy death, totally confounds, confuses and baffles me.  Since the supposedly death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, 2000 years of human history death is a daily happening and normal activity among human kind. Even Christians believing in Jesus Christ are still dying just like all the other non Christians.

FOR A FACT, EVEN LAZARUS WHO WAS RESURRECTED BY JESUS CHRIST ULTIMATELY HAD TO DIE A SECOND TIME. If Lazarus could and would be ultimately made alive forever in some distant heaven, then what was the need to make him alive on earth TO DIE ALL OVER AGAIN. - John 12:1

Technically who really killed Jesus Christ?

According to the gospel accounts, Jewish authorities in Roman Judea charged Jesus with blasphemy and sought his execution, but lacked the authority to have Jesus put to death (John 18:31), so they brought Jesus to Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of the province, who authorized Jesus' execution (John 19:16).

WHAT A PARADOX? The Roman Rulers and the authorities of Rome and its soldiers executed the Roman death penalty, totally authorized by the Emperor and the Empire of Rome. Technically and legally speaking, it was Rome and Romans who killed Jesus Christ.

Today the same followers and believers who call themselves proudly as ROMAN CATHOLICS, are the adherents of Christianity created by the Church of Rome. This Roman Catholic Church wrongly and in a most evil way, blamed ALL THE JEWS for the death of Jesus Christ.

Infact the Bible says, that the whole and sole purpose of Jesus coming to earth in Israel was to offer his life as a human sacrifice for the sins of the world. Then why blame the Jews for the death of Jesus Christ which was predestined and arranged by the Almighty God of the Christians only?

"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Messiah died for our sins according to the scriptures;" - 1 Corinthians 15:3

If the Roman Catholics hate the Jews or Romans for killing Jesus Christ, then they are aligning or joining themselves with the plan of Satan. Peter too did not want Jesus Christ to suffer and die. But what did Jesus say to Peter? Jesus referred to Peter as though Satan had taken over his thoughts. So if Roman Catholics did not want Jesus to be killed and crucified, that means they too have aligned themselves with Satan and thus wrongly hating and persecuting the Jews who were ultimately involved in their own Christian Almighty God's plan. WHAT A PARADOX

 Matthew 16:21

From that time forth began Yahshua to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

Matthew 16:22

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Master: this shall not be unto thee.

Matthew 16:23

But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of Elohim, but those that be of men.

Coming back to the main topic of Jews living in Goa before the Portuguese rule appears to be factual, as during the Portuguese Inquisition, the Roman Catholic Church supported by the Portuguese government must have persecuted the Jews very generously in Goa.

Below are some article links providing the original and authentic resources on cementing the belief that few centuries ago there was an active Jewish population living peacefully in Goa, before the violent rule and governance of the Portuguese.
